SOME PLANS CAN GO AWRY SOMETIMES : HERE IS WHAT TO DO

I am one person who likes planing. I plan every detail and would also want to plan on time. I am not really a fan of spontaneity. I don't so much like it when I have to do everything in a hurry or get caught up with last minute rush. It is never my thing.

I don't even like it when someone just calls me up and says I would like to see you now or tomorrow because I may have planned my now and tomorrow. Even when I'd like to see someone, I let them know on time so they too can plan seeing me.

My finances are also planned because I am a budget person even though the economy is trying to mess up one's financial plans, I still find a way to plan my finances😊. With this, I can account for every penny spent or given out.

My cloths are even arranged for every week of the month. There are cloths for each week as I don't know how to just go to the wardrobe and pick up any cloth I see to work. This enables me not to repeat cloths frequently or get confused on what to wear.

But despite all these, well laid out plans can still go awry. Planing gives us a sense of control over things yet none of us can totally control the course of our lives.

When plans go awry, how we respond to the sudden changes that go against our plans will determine how well we adjust to the new direction.

WHAT DO WE DO WHEN PLANS GO AWRY?

BE PATIENT : I have made plans that went askew in life and plans still go askew sometimes but I have learnt to accept things that are beyond my control with patience, grace and thankfulness to God on how things eventually turn out.

Exhibiting patience can be sometimes difficult to do especially when we have had a perfect plan laid out with high hopes that things will go as planned and suddenly, there is a change that was never anticipated yet patience requires the ability to see things beyond now and to trust God that he has a better and perfect plan for us.

LEARN TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS : Making adjustments to plans that have gone awry isn't always easy. It can leave us frustrated and confused not knowing what to do.

A simple adjustment to a change of cloths after planning ahead what to wear for the office or an occasion can leave you frustrated.  But instead of fusing and ranting about the sudden changes, we can accept the change, adjust to the change and maintain a forward motion.

SEE GOD IN THE SUDDEN CHANGES : When our plans go awry, we need to see God at the centre of it all. We must trust that He has a better plan for us all. That's why he said in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

While we may not have total of control of what happens to us, there is one vital element that we do have a hundred percent control over, and that is our attitude. Attitude is everything when things don't go as planned. It keeps us in a better position to accept and adjust perfectly to sudden changes with a positive outlook on things trusting God that he has a much better plan than what we had planned.

Quote for the day - "The heart of man plans his ways, but the Lord establishes his steps." - Proverbs 16:9
