YOUR MIND IS YOUR MOST VALUABLE ASSET

I'm sure we all take our bath every morning and repeat same at the end of each day to keep the body clean.

We eat every now and then to stay healthy. Some of us even ensure we eat the right foods, fruits and vegetables and at the right times to stay healthy.

We also try to make out time to do some workouts either at the gym, outdoors or indoors to stay healthy, be in shape and to keep fit.

Spiritually, we pray every now and then to ensure our safety in the hands of the almighty God who never fails to keep us safe, sound and grant us our heart's desires as long as they are in accordance with His will.

While all these are good because they add comfort to our lives, make us feel good, improve our image and make us feel safe, how well do we take care of the major asset God has given to us? How often do we feed and exercise this great asset?

We have become so concerned about our physical appearance in order to look attractive, hot and sexy without caring about our inner being.

We have become so concerned about material and financial gains that nothing else matters if we do not have them. People go through lengths unimaginable just to be materially and financially rich.

We have also become so religious that we think everything and everyone is against us so we engage in intense fasting and prayers.

Yet, all we need to be really and truly successful in every area of life is to take care of just one thing - The Mind.

The mind plays a vital role in our overall well being and determines the outcome of our lives. It shapes who we become in life.

So then, what are your thought patterns and how well do they serve you? Your thought patterns are a reflection of who you are. They determine your actions, words and ultimately your character or behavior.

They have so much power to shape or determine the outcome of your life. No wonder Proverbs 4:23 says "Be careful what you think, how you think shapes your life." (English version).

No matter how well dressed you are , how much you try to lose weight and be in shape or look fit, if the mind is not as sound as it should be, trust me, you will hardly feel good about yourself.

"What matters is not your outer appearance - the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your cloths - but your inner disposition." (1 Peter 3:3-4)

No matter how much you pray and fast everyday to God about a particular request or other things you desire, if the mind is not well taken care of and sound in scriptures, your desires might not come true.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:12).

The mind is our greatest asset and even the sexiest asset we have ☺. I was once told by a friend that my hips are my selling points because he felt they had reduced as a result my consistent workouts.  My reply was simple - I am my selling point.

For me, what I find attractive the most in anybody especially with the opposite sex is their level or sense of communication. Your level of communication says a lot about you and reveals what your mind has been fed with.

You may dress well, have all the wealth in the world, look so good and attractive physically and  look like a hunk as a man, if your sense of communication is poor, it may affect how we relate because communication in any kind of relation determines how well that relationship will be.

The mind determines our overall well being -  physically, socially, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially and otherwise.

It is what you feed the mind with that will determine how you become successful in any area of your life.

You may not have all you need as you wish or hope for in any area of your life, but a sound mind keeps you stable and going.

We are a reflection of our thoughts. We are who we think we are and who we think we are is a reflection of our attitude, behavior and what comes out of our mouth.

Challenging or difficult times also have a way of revealing who a person truly is. What you do in such moments is more important than what may be happening to you and what you do is a reflection of your thoughts as a consequence of what your mind has been fed with prior to the challenge.

Your thought pattern during challenging times will determine how you come out of that challenge - bitter or better.

For a change to occur in our lives especially in difficult times, then we must have a change in mind set. Now, the situation might not change as you hope for it to but a change in mindset from thinking the worst to being hopeful is what will keep you strong and keep you going when you eventually come out of it.

When a part of your body is broken or your whole body down due to ill health, in most cases, the body heals with medications but when the mind is broken, its a long road. It may take a very long time back that's if it ever comes back the same.

If only we are all able to pay attention to our mindsets as much as we do our jobs, our bodies and so on, we'd be much more happier and feel successful and the world would be a better place.

According to the late Jim Rohn, "Poor thinking habits keep most people poor.". In essence, it is our thinking and not our doing that gets us stuck in a place.

According to Dr. Norman Vincent Peale "If you think in negative terms, you will get negative results. If you think in positive terms, you will achieve positive results."

There are so many things out there that pollute our mindsets- the media, the internet or social media platforms, negative minded people, the kind of things we read, watch or listen to.

Waking up in the morning and then the first thing you do is going through your social media platforms or listening to the news can pollute or corrupt your mind for the rest of that day.

But feeding your mind with positive things like having a devotion, reading motivational books that will impart you as well as doing things worthwhile like exercising and meditating can set the tone of the day for you on a positive note.

Keep your mind engaged with positive and productive things rather than celebrity gossips, wars, riots, murders, politics and so on can fill you with lots of negative energy.

Stand guard at the door of your heart and thoughts. You have control and power over your thoughts than you can imagine.

Decide what goes into your mind and what your thought patterns should look like. Nourish your mind and feed it like you would your body.

Invest in your mind so it grows like you would want to invest in businesses, real estates and the like to grow your finances.

Renew your mind daily with God's word so your mental state spiritually is strong and better like you pray to God everyday to grant you your heart's desires each time you pray.

Think only growth in every area of your life and the only way to experience growth in life feeding your mind with what it needs to grow positively.

Quote for the day - "Remember, your mind is your greatest asset, so be careful what you put into it." - Robert T. Kiyosaki
