In this life, waiting never ends. We are always waiting for one thing or the other. When one thing is accomplished or achieved, we want to move on to the next level or thing and that may also require some waiting.
Yet waiting is never easy or comfortable. It can be frustrating and disheartening to wait for a heart desire that seems too far away or like it would never happen.
But what do we do when an expected change has not occurred? do we put other dreams on hold because the one we so much desire isn't coming forth? Do we put our lives on hold and stop living because what we expect isn't happening?
Life happens to us all and life will always go on irrespective of what happens or what is not happening.
Putting your life on hold because of the situation you find yourself in will only limit you a great deal much more than what is not happening or happening to you.
So what do we do when a situation is not changed ? The answer is simple. Pursue your dreams or other dreams if what you are waiting for is one of your dreams.
Pursuing our dreams irrespective of what is happening around us is what makes life worth living, exciting and adventurous without which we are nothing.
Look within you and ask, what more do I want in life? What other thing do I need to achieve in life? And you will find the answers. When you do, instead of waiting, carry on with other areas of your life.
Life is worth living and interesting when we keep moving on irrespective of the obstacles we come across.
You don't need to put your life on hold because an expected change in one area of your life has not occurred. Life doesn't always give us what we want yet so beautiful to live.
While you wait for a dream to come true, you need to steps to grow in other areas. Learn other skills, train yourself in other areas of interest, plan and increase.
Your attitude and what you do while you wait will determine how well you come out during the period of waiting.
To reach your highest potential and to be become a star, you need to keep doing the right thing irrespective of what is happening to you or around you.
Keep being productive, keep shining, keep being a blessing to others through your potentials, resources time and other gifts God has bestowed you with.
God did not bring you this far to leave you. He said in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
If God hasn't answered a particular prayer yet does not mean He does not have good plans for you.
He knows what's best for you than you would know for yourself and He makes all things beautiful in His time - Ecclesiastes 3:11
So many of us know what Jeremiah 29:11 means or what it talks about but not what led to the chapter and verse.
The preceding parts of Jeremiah 29:11 show how the children of Israel were on exile in Babylon.
Jeremiah had told them they would be like that for 70 years before they become free. It would take 70 good years for God's good plan to come to pass in their lives.
But while waiting and hoping their present circumstance changes. While waiting for those 70 years to come fast and quick, he asked them to keep living their lives.
He said to them to build houses and live in them, plant gardens and eat the produce, have kids and let their kids have kids also, they should grow in the community where they are and also help it grow and not to be fooled by false prophets - Jeremiah 29:4-9.
There was no point putting their lives on hold because they were in captivity or in bondage and expected a change.
While they expect a change from their present predicament, they are to keep living and pursuing their other dreams. A major dream at the time, was to be set free from captivity.
Paul was another person who despite his predicament, kept on living his dream while he waited.
For the two years he was in prison, he did not put his life on hold because he was in captivity
He expected to be free. He needed a change from his present predicament but did not stop living or pursuing other dreams.
While in prison, He still preached the gospel to all those around him and those who came to visit him encouraging them to keep living the faith.
While in prison, He also wrote letters to his fellow brothers in Christ such as the Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon making four books of the new testament, that are till date beneficial and instructional to the christian race.
Out of the 27 books in the new testament, Paul wrote 13 of the books of which four were written in the prison.
Though in prison, for two years, he never wasted his stay there but productive and active while waiting and hoping he would be released.
Imagine if Paul had put his life on hold while in prison, we wouldn't have these books today as a guide to the church and even to our christian living.
Just because it hasn't happened yet does not mean it wont happen. But while you wait keep building other dreams and keep living life.
There are times the things we wait for never comes. There are times the situation we are in never even changes just as was the case with Paul who had hoped for his freedom but was beheaded in captivity.
But like Paul while we wait, can still make impact by pursuing our dreams and keep on living.
Quote for the day "Patience is not simply the ability to wait but how we behave while we wait," - Joyce Meyer
