How often do you feel like a door has been shut against you or that all doors seems to be slammed against you right in front of your face?
We all go through this at one point in life or another and there are people presently experiencing shut doors against them.
Shut doors could mean you not getting the desired job or not getting jobs applied for especially at such a time as this when the economy is not so friendly.
Shut doors could mean not getting it right in relationships. It could also mean things not going well for you as planned or as hoped.
Other times, an opportunity opens up for you but before you could make use of that opportunity, the door is closed leaving you disappointed.
We feel doors closed to us when we are experiencing discomfort in certain areas of life, when we desire a change in certain perceived bad situations we are into yet nothing is happening.

We may have prayed and fasted for days at intervals yet it seems the door or better doors can't be opened, like there is no way out or there will never be a way out.
At such moments, we feel so stuck at a place. We become so desperate, anxious and frustrated that we crave for a change and desire an instant intervention from God. I have been there and still desire certain opened doors in my life presently.
The feeling can be horrible and terrifying that we might get tempted to manipulate things to force doors to be opened up to us. We might even begin to do things to impress people just to get them to like and validate us.

But God is our door keeper if only we can trust him enough to man every gate or doors of our lives. He shuts doors no one can open and open doors no one can shut.
Revelation 3:7-8 says "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, these things says He who is holy, He who is true, "He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens. I know your works.
See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it, for you have a little strength, have kept my word and have not denied my name."
God is so merciful unto us that He keeps certain doors closed to us for our ultimate good and protection. Its very important we trust God at such moments when we feel doors shut against us.
No doubt, we all had or have dreams and heart desires that we want to see manifest in our lives and there is nothing wrong in chasing these dreams but when it seems doors are shut against us concerning those dreams, its best we know God has something better for us.
What belongs to you as designed by God can and will never go to someone else if only we are patient enough to wait and not try to manipulate things.
God controls the universe. Any door He wants opened for you will be opened and no one can shut it. Anyone He wants shut will be shut and no one, not even you can open it with all the anxiety and desperation.
SO WHY DOES GOD SHUT CERTAIN DOORS IN OUR LIVES?
As the door keeper of our lives, when God closes certain doors to us, He does it for our protection. He protects us by keeping certain doors closed for our peace of mind and sanity.
But if we force such doors open in our own accord, then we would toil and suffer so much that only by God's grace and mercy would we come out of it.
God also shuts certain doors in order to keep certain people away from you. These kind of people are people who would try to bring you down at any cost probably due to envy or jealousy. They simply just don't want to see you progress in life.
Such people would do all they can to keep you from fulfilling God's purpose and plans for your life. They will do this by criticizing you, discourage you from living your dreams and mock every step you take to actualize your dreams.
So God will close certain doors in your life to prevent such people from gaining access to your life again so you fulfill His divine plan for your life. He has a plan and a purpose for us all to fulfill.
And then, as the door keeper of our lives, there are certain doors God keeps closed to us because if they are opened, we may face certain challenges that we might not be able to bear or handle. Difficulties that we may never come out from. So, He prevents us from such.
God also keeps certain doors closed to us so we learn to trust and depend on Him only. When things always go our way or when it seems that every door is opened up for us, we feel we are in charge of our lives.
But it is in seasons of closed doors that we realize nothing is in our control. It is at such times that we feel the heavy weight of our helplessness and powerlessness. This then begin to make us trust and depend only on God as our door keeper.
God also uses closed doors to steer us at the right direction. If a certain door is not closed to us, we may never get it right in life or any area of our lives.
HOW ABOUT WHEN GOD OPENS THE DOOR(s)?
When God finally opens the door, the right people come into our lives, favor locates us all round, doors of opportunities are opened up for us and we begin to see things working for our good.
The lines begin to fall in pleasant for us because we have a good heritage in God who is the door keeper of our lives (Psalm 16:16). You begin to experience not just happiness but Joy unspeakable.
So when you feel like all doors are slammed in your face and you are stuck at a place, don't worry, God has better plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11) and will make all things beautiful for you in His own time which is always the best (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

We all have to deal with certain closed doors in our lives at one point in time but we need to stay motivated to find the courage to stay strong, to keep moving despite the difficulties and we will find joy and relief.
Don't chase people to open doors for you or keep the doors opened up for you due to fear of the unknown. Only God has the master key to open the right doors for you and keep them opened for you for as long as He wants to.
Don't try diagnosing the closed or open doors. He is the creator of the universe. He made the doors and He will make a way.
One major thing I have learnt in the face of closed doors is to always change my perspective from the negative to the positive and then trust God believing He knows better and has a better plan for me.
And once I do that, I feel lightened and see every reason to keep moving and not to keep staring at the closed door.
Be patient, stay strong, stay courageous and stay motivated. You will get through this. There are better things waiting for you at the the other side of the door.
Quote for the day - "Be patient enough to wait for the right door to be opened up for you than to struggle all your life to close a perceived wrong door." - Rhoda Amapakabo
