NEVER TOO SMALL OR INSIGNIFICANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

It was a privilege to speak on Never Too Small Or Insignificant To Make a Difference at the Youth Alive Word Explorer Day In Living Faith Church, Rock Haven, Jos.

We all have aspirations, dreams and visions we want to live. Skills and talents we want to exhibit. Divine ideas we want to execute.

But most times, we let our weaknesses, setbacks, obstacles, the challenges stirring us in the face or past mistakes and failures preventing us from living the life God has ordained us to live and this ought not to be so.

The mosquito seems so insignificant and small to us yet very powerful and effective in disrupting our sleep and peace at night.

Until that mosquito, is killed, you will know no peace that night. It will keep hovering around you singing sweet melodies into your ears.

Your size or the threat to its life by you does not intimidate it because it has a target and goal to achieve. The target is you and the goal is to suck and feed on your blood so it maintains its focus except it is killed.

There is also the ant which looks so insignificant and tiny yet the Bible in Proverbs 6:6 admonishes we look and study the ways of the ants and be as wise as they are.

Proverbs 30:25 describes them as a people not strong yet are able to prepare the meat in summer against winter to prevent scarcity of food. The ant it is said, is able to lift things 20-100 times its size.

In 2 kings 5:1-3, a little girl who was a maid in the house of the captain of a host of Army, Naaman, was able to encourage him to go see the prophet Elisha to be healed of his leprosy causing a change and making a difference in his life.

David in I Samuel 17 despite his age and size at the time was able to bring down Goliath in the presence of well trained professional soldiers who were frightened at the sight of the giant, Goliath. He made an impact and a difference that day.

Moses who was chosen by God to bring the Israelites out of Egypt gave several excuses as to why he is not the perfect candidate for the mission.

In Exodus 3:10-12 Moses asked " Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh to bring the Israelites out from Egypt." God replied promising to be with him as he goes but this wasn't enough for Moses.

In Exodus 4: 10-12 Moses said " Pardon your servant, I have never been eloquent neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." But God replied promising to help him speak and teach him what to say

Just like Moses, most of us focus on our weaknesses, the challenges or obstacles stirring us in the face. We make reference to our past mistakes, failures or errors preventing us to live the life God has ordained us to live.

God said in Jeremiah 1:5 " Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

God knows what you can do and what you can not do. When God laid down the plans for our lives, he never promised a smooth sailing.

He never said we would never encounter challenges, setbacks, obstacles, experience failures or mistakes. Neither did he say the success of our dreams is dependent on our perfection.

But He promises to be with us through it all (Isaiah 41:10) enabling us to carry on in every storm we encountered.

Never lower yourself, never underestimate yourself. Never see yourself as too small or insignificant to live your dreams, exhibit your talents and skills or execute the ideas God has given to you thereby making a difference in life.

If God gave you the dreams and visions, talents and skills or ideas, He has also given you the ability, capability and potentials to live them.

Quote for the day - "Its never too late to live your dreams making a difference in your life and in the lives of others." Rhoda Amapakabo
