TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED

Love is one of the most powerful tools in life and the most powerful force on planet earth but we have been so busy with life trying to create wealth for ourselves that we forget to express this force within us yet crave for it.

It is in human nature to want to be loved, desired, cared for, touched and nurtured which is one of the basic needs of every human being.  

For so many people, happiness for them is dependent on having a healthy and nurturing relationship but the need to love and care for is as important as being loved and cared for.

In as much as we feel happy when we are loved and cared for, it's also essential we express same to others or to our significant other.

Love is not just a word but an action word. So when you say you love someone, you don't just say it but show it with deeds or actions.

Love, not just with words but accompanied with actions is what nourishes every relationship like food to the body. Expressing it publicly or privately makes every relationship so beautiful.

Nothing equates the feelings of joy and happiness knowing the one you love, loves you back. In Fact you feel much happier expressing your love to someone else. 

It is not just a feeling but a conscious commitment made. You find love simply by loving. Some people have deliberately failed to love because they have been hurt at one time or the other in their lives and do not believe in love anymore.

God has graciously bestowed us with so much love that we should be able to give love, be compassionate and sympathetic towards one another irrespective of the circumstance we find ourselves in.

In life, it is what you sow that you reap. When you sow love you reap love in multiple effects. so instead of focusing more on who would love you like you want, why not sow much love?

Whatever you give out, you get back in a bigger measure. If you sow the seeds of encouragement, faith and love, the stronger you become in these things and the stronger your ability would be to love.

A sound and perfect love helps us to be at peace with ourselves, it helps to heal wounds and makes relationships last much longer. It nourishes our spirit, soul and body.

You can't speak of a perfect love when all you do is to receive and not give. Anyone who withholds will never get enough.

When you love perfectly, it draws others to you naturally because it is appealing, infectious and at the same time makes you a blessing to others.

But how then can we be able to give out so much love perfectly? 

We can only do this when we are able to love ourselves beyond our flaws, negative experiences, negative circumstances and past hurts or betrayals. 

It is commonly said that "you can't give what you don't you have".  To be able to love, you must first love yourself. Loving yourself keeps you happy which in turn makes you glow attracting others to you.

If you fail to love yourself like you should and deserve, people would hardly love you like you want as well.

Only when you are able to give yourself  love will you be able to show love to others and in turn get loved like you should.

God has shown us what love is by first of all displaying it. He loved us first by giving His only begotten son to die for us ( John 3:16).

God also taught us how to show love. Jesus said, after loving God first which is the first commandment, the next is loving our neighbours like we love ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40). 

This simply means you ought to love yourself first before you are able to love others else how can you love someone else so perfectly without first giving it to you?
