Celebrating the International Women's Day on the 8th March 2020, I chose to celebrate The Strength Of A Woman where we looked at four characteristics of The Strength of a woman.
To complete the series, four more characteristics of the strength of a woman will be looked into and are as follows;
5. WELL DRESSED (PROVERBS 31:22) : She dresses herself so well like the royalty she is and elegantly carries herself like the queen she is. She might not wear the most expensive cloths or be trendy but she has a style of her own that she maintains. No wonder Lauretta Young once said "A charming woman does not follow the crowd; she is herself."
6. DIGNIFIED (Proverbs 31:25) : She is dignified in strength and honour. Because she is always prepared, she is never afraid of what is to come but laughs at what is to come. She finds her strength in difficult and challenging times and not afraid of what the future holds for her but rather, trusts God. Because of who she is, her family, children, husband and loved ones around her feel secured even in troubling times.
7. WISDOM (Proverbs 31:26) : A woman of strength is a woman full of wisdom and instructs with wisdom. She is the kind of woman who is not ruled by her emotions, not overwhelmed with challenges, not always fearless but courageous to tackle every challenge with wisdom. She exercises restraining power knowing when or what to react to and when not to. She is wise enough to know she is not to fight every battle and careful with her words.
8. PRAISE WORTHY (Proverbs 31:28-31) : Due to her virtues (strength, honour, being industrious, humility, empathy, kindness etc) she is always praised. Her children call her blessed, her husband is proud of who she is while those around her praise her for who she is. She is at the end of the day rewarded for all her good qualities. Above all else, she is one who fears the Lord and does what is right at all times. Only a woman of strength fears God in all she does.
A woman of strength is the proverbs 31 kind of woman whose work ethics, business acumen, emotional intelligence, financial security, industrious nature, sound and stable mindset speak of her strength, power and prowess. She is a woman with a powerful force to be reckoned with.
We find such women around us everyday. For me, My late mum was one of such women, a woman of strength and a proverbs 31 woman.
I am who and what I am today because I had a woman of strength and a proverbs 31 woman. And I am of cos a woman of strength and a proverbs 31 woman to the core.
