We all have our specific gifts, talents, dreams and purposes that God has given to us and has also given us the ability to live these dreams. Even when you have similar dreams or purposes with someone else, the method of delivery is usually different and that's the uniqueness God has given to you. You were created by God and not by accident and He has a purpose for you to live. When God created you, He put everything in you to be able to fulfil destiny but there are those who want to live the lives of others because of the glory they see these people enjoy. Trying to live someone else's life is highly futile. There is no grace in trying to live the life of someone else's but yours. God has equipped you enough to live your life and not someone else's life. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God with a distinct and unique personality crafted for a specific purpose made for you. Instead of trying to live someone else's life, why not "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans."(Proverbs 16:3).
When I started blogging initially, I tried going into news and entertainment but I struggled doing it. There was no peace inside of me and I struggled trying to keep up the pace. Now, seeing successful bloggers like Linda Ikeji and the likes, one would want to be like them and who says I never thought of that? 😊 but then behind every glory is a story. Every Successful person you see today once had sleepless nights, they were disciplined enough to live their dreams, there were times they felt like giving up, there were times they were under constant criticisms, rejections, mockery, abandonment and there were so many times they had to fight the discouragements yet they kept on keeping on despite the difficulties and challenges encountered. They were able to pull through because it is in them to live the dream they are living now. They had and still have the grace to live the dream they are living now that you so much want to be like them but then ask yourself, do you have the grace they have to live the life they are living now? Can you pull through what they pulled through? Find your dream and live your dream. I enjoying my blogging style with passion that it gives me so much Joy. I don't struggle to do it. Once I hit the keypad, it flows and I flow along with it. When it's in you, you don't struggle for it it just flows because of the grace made available for you to live the dream. If God gave you the dream, He will make everything available for you and bring the right people your way.
You might have similar dreams with someone else but you have your unique way of living your dream and that's what makes your dream different from the one who lives a similar dream as yours. The difference between you and the one with a similar dream is the uniqueness in your delivery. I may not blog as Linda Ikeji and the likes but I can inspire and motivate people. We might be all bloggers but we blog in our distinctive ways
You can only make impact in people's lives when you live your life and not someone else's life. Irrespective of how big or small your dream/purpose might be, it makes significant impact in people. When you live your life being you, you activate the gift, talent, and dream in you and then become powerful in your own little way irrespective of where you are or who you are. You can be behind the scenes and be powerful, you can be quiet yet make great impacts, you might be little in stature yet be mighty in deeds living your dream.
I was once behind the scenes during a great event tagged "Glory Experience" ushering in guest ministers, taking down names and phone numbers of people who attended the programme little did I know that I was going to speak on the next big event by the same convener with the theme "Sustaining Glory in Worship" which turned out to be very successful.
Never see the life you live as insignificant or your dream and purpose as not big enough for you to live. Keep being you and God will bring the right people your way to enable you live the life he has purposed for you to live. So stop comparing your life with others and stop competing with others. They have their race to run and you also have yours to run. Run your race not minding who is beside you. Celebrate those who are ahead of you and appreciate people God has placed in your life in one way or the other. Life may not be as fast as it is for you like it is for others, still maintain your pace and run your own race.
DANGERS OF TRYING TO LIVE SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE
ENVY : Envy and jealousy crops in when you trying living someone else's life and you are unable to to keep up the pace. King Saul became envious of David in the Bible when David was being celebrated in killing his ten thousands and Saul his thousands. Instead of joining the multitude in celebrating David, Saul out of jealousy sought to kill David (1st Samuel 18:1-30).
YOU GET LOST : You lose sight of your full potentials, gifts, talents and dreams trying to live someone else's life. You are fully loaded and capable enough to live your dreams. Identify your dreams, develop your talents and gifts but then, how do you identify your purpose, dreams, gifts and talents when live the life of others?
YOU DIE LOADED : It is commonly said that the grave is the wealthiest place filled with so many untapped human resources (gifts and talents). So many people have died without living their full potentials taking their gifts and talents to the grave thereby dying with all the gifts loaded in them. We all ought to die empty at our full old ripe age after we must have released all the gifts, talents and lived the life God purposed for us all to live. This is what happens when you try to live the life someone else is living (dying loaded).
HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE LIVING YOUR DREAMS
KNOW WHO YOU ARE : Do you have an idea of who you are? Know that are uniquely made by God. Your DNA is different from any other person on planet earth, so are your capabilities, dreams and talents. The purpose God has for you to live is quite different form any other. Your self awareness of you eliminates the tendency of competing and comparing yourself with others.
IDENTIFY YOUR DREAM : Knowing who you are enables you to identify your dreams. What do you do that gives you joy or that you enjoy dong. What gifts and talents do you have? Find out what your gifts and talents are and start working on them. Nurture and develop them.

SET GOALS : Goal setting is a great way to achieve your dreams. Don't just dream dreams and live it at just fantasies but set goals. Goals setting takes you from where you are now to where you want to be. According to late Jim Rohn "Goals are the vision of your future." and in one of his teachings, he said, you either face your future with apprehension or anticipation. Those who face their future with apprehension are those who do not have their future well designed but left the design of their future to somebody else taking uncertain steps, and this is what happens when you try to live somebody else's life. While those who face their future with anticipation are those who have effectively designed their future by setting goals. Your goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time bound (S.M.A.R.T). Never set goals you can't achieve.

MAKE A PLAN : Make a plan(s) towards achieving your set goals which automatically leads you to achieving your dreams. Your plan should be things you ought to do to achieve your set goals and dreams. Make a plan to add value to yourself each day, how to lose that weight, how to write everyday, how to save each month or daily as the case might be. All these are making plans towards a set goal and ultimately to the achievement of a dream.
TAKE ACTION : No achieved dreams without actions else it only becomes beautiful imagination and fantasies. No matter how little and insignificant a step might be, take it any way. Baby steps lead to bigger steps. Stop wishing to be like others who have lived the good life but commit yourself towards living your own life. There should be an action plan towards each goal set. If you wanna lose weight, you can start by taking baby steps such as walking, jugging and then run running. You can take action and start saving to hit that amount you so much wish to have and so on. Late Jim Rohn once said "The most important benefit of setting goals isn't achieving your goal; it's what you do and the person you become in order to achieve your goal that's the real benefit."

BE DISCIPLINED : Be disciplined enough to see that every goal set is achieved through every plan made. Discipline is one great virtue that can take you places. Be disciplined towards every planned action to be taken. "For every disciplined effort, there are multiple rewards." (Jim Rohn). Life is what you give to it. You get in life what you put into it. Galatians 6:7 says " Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. A man reaps what he sows." You can't sow laziness and expect to reap the benefits of hard work. Be disciplined in your plans and actions towards your set goals in order to live your dream life. Every little disciplined step taken, lead to greater results and like Jim Rohn once said "The smallest disciplines, practiced everyday, start an incredible process that can change our lives forever." Be disciplined even to the tiniest insignificant steps/actions.
Stop competing with someone not in your race. You are in competition with no one but you to be the best that you can be. Your race is specifically for you and no one else. If you come across those ahead of you, celebrate them. Same God that did it for them will also do it for you. Refused to be intimidated by successful people but be inspired. No one's success can stop what God wants to do for you and through you with the gifts and talents He has bestowed on you. We most times compete with people in a race who do not even know we exist how much more knowing we are in a race with them. That is how futile it is trying to live someone else's life. When a man has no purpose or dreams, he tends to live someone else's dreams. He goes wherever the wind pushes him because he has no direction of his own. Wishing to be like someone else or having what others have will never work for you.
The moment we start chasing our own dreams is the moment we start believing in ourselves, making impacts, moving mountains and leaving legacies for generations to come. It doesn't matter if your dream is big or small, follow it anyway and run your own race.
