Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has urged Public and Private Medical Practitioners to flow with Governor Wike’s Policy thrust on health.
Dr. Banigo stated this when she received members of the Rivers State Chapter of Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) of Nigeria at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Monday July 8th2019.
According to Dr. Banigo the Health policies of the State Government are so intensive now when compared to what we had in the first tenure, noting that the abolition of user fees for People Living With HIV is a deliberate policy to give them succor and unfettered access to Medicare, while stressing that it is immoral for any child to die of HIV.
Dr. Banigo who is the Breast Feeding Champion of the State called on operators of public and private health facilities to recommit to the baby friendly hospital routine and educate nursing mothers on the importance of breastfeeding, adding that this would go a long way in reducing issues of malnutrition and stunted growth amongst newborn babies.
The Deputy Governor expressed gratitude to members of the Association for their prayers and support during the last General Elections, and urged them to continue to support the present Administration.
Earlier the State Chairman Christian Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria Prof. Kenneth Ordu had congratulated the Deputy Governor on her re-election and successful swearing ceremony, stressing that the achievements of the Governor Wike led Administration in healthcare delivery is commendable.
