Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has commended the Nigeria Police Medical Services (NPMS) for adding value to healthcare delivery in the State.
Dr. Banigo made this commendation while playing host to a delegation of the Nigeria Police Medical Services, South- South Zone, at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, 9thJuly, 2019.
The Deputy Governor expressed appreciation with the partnership between the NPMS and the Government Health Teams across the State, noting that it was a delight to see the Police Hospital in Port Harcourt busy with an influx of patients.
Dr. Banigo assured the NPMS team that the State Government would continue to partner with them to fulfil their mandate in the State.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Commissioner of Police Medical Services, Efunsola Sowemimo who congratulated the Deputy Governor on her re-election disclosed that the Nigerian Police Medical Services is the unit of the Nigeria Police Force designated with the responsibility of ensuring that there is adequate healthcare provision for personnel of the Police Force, their dependants and the general public.
CP Sowemimo expressed gratitude to the State Government for providing a befitting building for NPMS, donation of solar powered refrigerator and drugs to support on immunization drive as well as the drug revolving pharmacy in the hospital.
She also noted that the NPMS would continue collaboration with the State Government in reach programmes to communities.
