The Deputy Governor of Rivers State Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo has called on fathers to lead exemplary lives in order to impact positively on the lives of their children.
The Deputy Governor stated this in a release from the Government House in Port Harcourt to commemorate the 2019 Father’s Day.
According to Dr. Banigo fathers are supposed to be symbols of discipline, love, leadership, mentorship and stability in homes which ultimately translates to a better society, state and nation.
According to her “the family is a smaller unit of the society if we get it right in our various families the society would be better for it, fathers are the heads of families, they must take full responsibilities for their families because, when they fail in their responsibilities, families become dysfunctional which negatively impacts the society”.
Dr. Banigo felicitated with the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and all fathers in the State on the Father’s Day Celebration.
