"And though you started with little, you will end with much". Job 8:7
Starting on a small note in your endeavor, dreams or career can be so discouraging especially when it seems like nothing is moving. It most times comes with little or no help at all, a tall resistance from people even from some family members and in most cases, limited budgets. Where you start or how you start does not determine where you go in life, it is what you do in the process that determines your success.
We sometimes want to start in a big way waiting for that mega money to arrive so we start up what ever it is in a mega way. Refusing to start with the little we have and where we are has killed so many dreams and delayed destinies. No doubt, some people may have started big and ended big but might not be same with you as you might have an insignificant beginning. The mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds you can ever find on earth but when it grows it becomes one of the biggest trees on earth and not just the biggest but serves as a home for the birds. Some people would wish they were just successful without stress, fights, zero worries, no lacks and no adversities. That would be great for sure but the down side of this is, no victories, no triumphs, no inspiration and no stories to tell when you look back and see how far you have come.
The successful stories of all the great and successful men we hear of today such as Bill Gates, Aliko Dangote, Joyce Meyer, Myles Monroe and so on did not happen over night. These men started from somewhere and started small. Take a look at their lives 10-30 years back, the story wasn't this rosy. They too lived through the discouragements, the criticism, the resistance from people and the fear of being unsuccessful but they tried any way and pushed on despite the challenges. They did not give up nor give in. Today, the story is different and almost everyone wants to be like them but these people had little beginnings that seemed insignificant to them and to people around them at the time. They are classified among the rich today, yet still work and do more to exceed where they are presently.
There is growth in little beginnings that lead to stardom and that's why the Bible says " Do not despise this small beginning for the eyes of the Lord rejoice to see the work begin." Zechariah 4:10. Achieving greatness starts with gradual steps. Great things often start small and from almost insignificant things. Do not be discouraged to start from where you are with the little you have and remain diligent in it. My pastor will always say, "though your vision is global, start local."
Learn not to compare your dreams with that of others. Comparison is one killer of dreams and a robber of potentials; so many people despise their little beginning comparing how they start with how others are starting or started. Sometimes, people want to be like those who have made it huge in life forgetting these people started somewhere too. When I started this blog, I have had moments where I felt like quitting cause it seemed like no one was reading and no responses. I had moments where I compared my blog with other blogs doing fine and better than mine and as a result, i saw reasons to quit like I was in the wrong direction but then I realized, comparison creates room for time wastage that would have been used to put in more work. I had also applied for AdSense which was rejected twice but was approved the third time. Today, I get so many commendations from people concerning the content of my blog and calls from people who want to collaborate with me.. That's some encouragement isn't it? This blog hasn't gotten to where I want it to be but it isn't where I started it from. I'm still moving on with it as it grows gradually hoping it gets global. My vision is global but I am starting local.

One major mile stone I have achieved so far from this blog is the ability to create an eBook. I was contacted by a church member to help advertise his book "Become a Budding Entrepreneur" on my blog which I accepted but also encouraged him to have an electronic version of the book which he agreed to and entrusted me with job. It would interest you to know that this would be the first time I would attempt creating an eBook. Never tried it before but I did singlehandedly and it came out fine. Out of what started as insignificant at first (That's my blog), something significant was done. I got to learn how to create an eBook. That's one of the advantages of small beginnings - you learn new things and become smarter in the process, you identify your strengths, weaknesses and gain knowledge of what works and what does not work.

Starting small is not a bad idea or an omen to be dreaded. When you start and however you start, people might look down on you, scorn you, laugh at you, mock you and talk you down but only you know where you are headed so don't let people's negativity kill your dreams but rather stay humble, be diligent in your work but most of all stay connected to God the only one who makes significant of the insignificance. How do you expect to grow if you can't start small? The Bible says "He who is faithful in little, is also faithful in much and he who is dishonest in little is also dishonest in much." Luke 16:10 And like they say" A journey of a thousand miles starts with a step." Take that first step. Your first step is as crucial as your success so don't take that first step for granted. Your efforts might seem hopeless and insignificant in the eyes of many and even in your eyes but in God's eyes it is important and He will reward your diligence . "Seest thou a man diligent in his work? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men" Proverbs 22:29.
Your beginning might be little today, but there is a greater tomorrow from the insignificance of today. There might seem to be no way forward in view, you job is to be hopeful and to believe. Just because you see no way out, does not mean there is no way forward so don't stall that dream because it seems insignificant. What dream has God placed in your heart? What have you been entrusted with ? The paycheck might seem insignificant, the results might look insignificant and it might seem like your dream will not get to a peak, do not be discouraged to carry on, your insignificance and little beginning is your great story in life so hold on as your story is not over yet.
You might have a humble beginning, the odds might be against you and the circumstances you find yourself in might not favor you but that does not mark your end. What you do in-between is what matters. You either give in or fight the good fight of faith and keep holding on to your dreams seeing the brighter future ahead.

Quote for the day - " Life is a series of steps. Things are done gradually. Once in a while, there is a giant step, but most of the time, we are taking small seemingly insignificant steps on the stairway of life". Ralph Ransom
