SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE: RIVERS STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR, BANIGO

Rivers State Deputy Governor Dr. (Mrs.) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has reiterated that the security of Lives and Properties in the State is of utmost importance to the Governor Wike led Administration.



The Deputy Governor stated this during a security meeting with the JTF Commander Sector 3 Operation Delta Safe, Col. Fadairo and Lt. Col. A. M Ahamadu, Commanding Officer 130 Battalion, Harry’s Town as well as the care Taker Committee Chairman of the Degema Local Government Area, Chief Ombo Benibo at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Represented by her Senior Special Assistant on Security Elder Emmanuel Ibama Dr. Banigo said security is key to the socio economic and political development of a people this is what informed the Government’s huge investment on security.

She said the meeting between herself, the security Agencies and representative of Degema, Asari Toru and Akuku Toru Local Government Areas was necessitated by the desire to stamp out all forms of criminality in the area.

“It has been a successful meeting; salient points were raised on how to mitigate security breaches and ensure that the area remains peaceful and crime free” Dr. Banigo stressed.

On his part the Caretaker Chairman of Degema Local Government Area Chief Ombo Benibo who thanked the State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for providing the necessary logistics support to the security agencies, commended the Deputy Governor for convening the meeting and promised that the three Local Government Councils would partner with the security agencies to maintain the peace in the area.
