She reiterated the need for all communities in Rivers State to live peacefully with their neighbors because violence is not an option.

“Progress and development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of bitterness and rancor it therefore behooves on all residents to keep the peace at all times to fast track the developmental agenda of the Wike led administration.”She said.

Also speaking the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Gokana Local Government Area Hon. Dumbari Dimkpa commended Governor Nyesom Wike and the State Boundary Commission for its disposition in ensuring that lasting peace is returned to the area.

He urged the warring communities to see themselves as their brother’s keeper and eschew violence, stressing that it is peace that attracts development.

In their various submissions the representatives of Deeken and Deeyor communities assured the committee of their resolve to maintain peace and order at all times.
